Gold & Green Chevrons & Spots

Barry M Gold, BYS Striper Aqua Blue

While I was interneting the other day I came across this iPhone cover -
I really want it (may even pop into the Apple store next time I'm there and see if they have it!) and I loved the colour combination. I have a aqua-ish greeny striper that I've never used so I decided to do some serious striping and replicate the always popular chevron/zig zag pattern.

I did get slightly lazy part of the way through so I did a couple of dotty accent nails. Next time I tackle a chevron pattern I'm going to attempt all my nails! And sorry about the tip wear, it's been hideously rainy and dark in Sydney the past few days and there was no light so these photos were taken on day 2.

Effie Trinket - Nail Polish Queen!

Effie Trinket Manicure - little nails

China Glaze Strawberry Fields, Barry M 289 Gold, Essence Make It Golden (and a tiny hint on the very edge of the tips of Ulta3 Gold Rush Fever)

Like every other person on the planet I've seen the Hunger Games at the movies in the past week and read the books. And like every other nail polish addict on the planet, I've done a HG manicure! Hooray!

Because I am not all that skilled with painting intricate designs like Mockingjay birds, or tiny bows and arrows, I did something different. When I saw the movies I loved Effie's nails. I love Elizabeth Banks (they need to bust Avery out of North Korea on 30 Rock so she can be a regular again on the show!) and honestly, Effie was my favourite part of the movie! These nails are inspired by the awesome gradient mani she rocked in the reaping scene:

(hardest thing to find a photo of on the interwebs. They were much more impressive in the movie but you get the idea)

Anyway. They were awesome so obviously I had to have them too!

The Girly Mermaid

OPI Ate Berries In The Canaries, OPI Planks A Lot, China Glaze Light As Air, China Glaze Heli-Yum,  Barry M Gold

I felt it was high time I did another mermaid style manicure and I was in the mood for a bit of therapeutic nail polishing last night so this was what I ended up with! After seeing all the Valentines Day inspired manis that have been popping up I was in a bit of a pink and purple mood! I really should do these mermaid style dotty nails more often! They're so easy (even if they are a bit time consuming)!
